Psychotherapy and Ecotherapy Frequently Asked Questions

This is the FAQ for Ecotherapy, Psychotherapy and Clinical Supervision.

The Kindred Circle FAQ page lives here.

Do you offer online or in-person sessions?

Most of my work takes place online via Zoom, though I also offer ecotherapy outdoor sessions and nature-connected circles. For many people, meeting online allows more comfort and accessibility, and nature connection happens in Sussex.

What happens in a consultation or first session?

The first session is a gentle conversation to get to know each other. There’s no pressure to tell your whole story; we’ll go at a pace that feels right. It’s a space for you to ask questions and see if this way of working feels like a good fit.

How long will therapy take?

There’s no fixed number. Some people come for a few months, many for longer-term work. We’ll review together as we go, so you always have choice and clarity about what feels supportive.

What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?

IFS is a compassionate way of understanding our inner world. It helps us meet the different parts of ourselves - the ones that protect, the ones that hold pain, and the ones that help us thrive - with curiosity rather than judgment. It’s less about “fixing” and more about creating a sense of inner connection.

Do you work with neurodivergent or queer clients?

Yes - this is a neurodiversity-affirming, queer-affirming space. Many of the people I work with identify as neurodivergent (ADHD, autistic, or otherwise) and/or LGBTQ+. My approach is shaped by lived experience, trauma-informed practice, and a deep respect for difference.

What is ecotherapy?

Ecotherapy starts from the understanding that we’re not separate from nature, but part of it. We might work outdoors, or we might explore your connection to the land through imagery, memory, or the seasons. It’s not about being outdoors all the time - it’s about remembering relationship.

Do you offer supervision?

Yes - I offer individual and group supervision for therapists, particularly those integrating IFS, neurodivergent-affirming practice, or nature-based work. My supervision style is collaborative, reflective, and supportive rather than performative.

What’s your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations with less notice are charged in full, as the time is held for you.
