Online Therapy

Online therapy works for you - Whether you are an ex-pat looking for English-speaking psychotherapy to support you as you work abroad, would like to have therapy from the comfort of your own home, free from distractions, or find it hard to find the time or energy to travel to a regular therapy appointment.

Having therapy online has a wide range of advantages over face-to-face therapy. You do not have to factor in travel time or costs getting to and from your session, you are able to have therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own home, and you are able to work with the right therapist, not just the closest.

I am a Certified Cyber Therapist, a qualification from the Online Therapy Institute. This ensures I am able to work competently, safely, and effectively with you using Zoom video or audio, and by email.

1:1 Therapy via Zoom

I work online from my confidential office space, primarily using Zoom. This is the closest to regular face-to-face therapy, as we will sit with each other and talk for 50 minutes. This option is good if you would like to have traditional therapy without the hassle of having to travel to appointments and with the ability to choose the therapist who is the best fit for you, not just the closest.

For video sessions, you will need to ensure a confidential space where you will be uninterrupted, a good internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.

Audio Sessions (Zoom or telephone)

You might prefer to work without video, just using audio. This can also be an option where internet connections are unstable sometimes. Or if you find face-to-face challenging. Here, the same 50-minute session will be us talking and listening to each other without the visuals. I use Zoom for this, as we have the option to turn off cameras and talk.

For audio sessions, you will need to ensure a confidential space where you will be uninterrupted for the duration of your session, a good internet connection, and a device with a microphone.

Email Therapy

Email therapy may suit you if you feel comfortable writing about your feelings and issues. It can be ideal if you find it hard to find a confidential space for a video session or do not have a reliable internet connection. Clients often value the ability to have their session emails to read over and go back to in-between sessions, as well as the ability to send several messages during the week as things occur to them.

If you choose to have therapy by email, we will communicate via ProtonMail, providing security and encryption to our messages. If we work by email, I will dedicate the same 50-minute time frame to reading and replying to your messages as I would to a live therapy session.

For email, you will need time and privacy to read and write your emails, access the internet to send and receive, and ensure your accounts and passwords are private and secure.

Instant Message

Message-based therapy is a live-chat option where we will use send messages back and forth for your therapy session. Unlike email, we would be speaking to each other live which feels more conversational.

For message-based sessions, you will need to ensure you have a confidential space where you will be uninterrupted for the duration of your session and a good internet connection.

What  Clients Say

"One of the biggest things I've learnt is having a choice about being anxious. Knowing I can control this and how I feel makes such a difference, I'm not scared all the time. You showing me how the physical and mental are linked has really helped. "
